Following the excitement of Melbourne the F1™ teams and drivers move onto the desert in Bahrain.

Visiting the race is a mix of two very contrasting experiences. On the one hand, there is Bahrain's bustling capital Manama, offering a hub of bright lights, bars and exotic souqs.

On the other hand, there's the Sakhir circuit, with some of the best facilities in the world. As the wind picks up each evening and the early sunset takes hold, the place has a magical feel to it and is always the perfect setting for an exciting race.

The first Grand Prix took place at the Bahrain International Circuit in 2004, making history as the first Fomula One™ race to be held in the Middle East.

In 2017 Sebastian Vettel won the race, maintaining his early season form, with Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valteri Bottas completing the podium. This was to set the tale of the season, with Vettel falling into a mid-season bad run of form, leaving Hamilton to eventually claim the Championship at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November.
