As the Formula One calendar pauses for its traditional summer break, the team at Red Eye Events has been reflecting on what has been an incredible first half of 2025 for global sport. From dramatic finishes to long-awaited triumphs, the opening months of this year have delivered sporting memories that will last a lifetime.
A Spectacular Start to 2025
It’s hard to know where to begin. In football, the Premier League delivered yet another thrilling finale, with twists and turns right up to the final day. Chelsea fans had even more to celebrate, as the Blues lifted the FIFA Club World Cup - a testament to their growing strength and huge investment.
Rugby gave us a Six Nations to remember, full of intensity, upsets, and edge-of-your-seat action. The British and Irish Lions then went down under and returned victorious from a successful tour of Australia - a proud moment for fans across the UK and Ireland.
Cricket lovers were recently treated to a captivating Test series between England and India, while over on the golf course, Rory McIlroy finally conquered Augusta, winning the Green Jacket after years of near misses at the Masters.
Wimbledon brought the heat, both on the court and in the stands, and cycling fans watched in awe as Tadej Pogačar dominated the Tour de France in imperious style.
And of course, Formula One has been consistently entertaining, with a fiercely competitive first half of the season that’s seen multiple race winners and some unforgettable wheel-to-wheel battles.
Catching Our Breath... Just in Time
Now, as the engines cool and summer hits full swing, we’ve finally had a moment to catch our breath at Red Eye HQ. But not for long, because the second half of the year is shaping up to be just as unforgettable.
Here’s what the team at Red Eye Events is most looking forward to:
Jay – "All Eyes on Chelsea and Courtside at the O2"
“The return of the Premier League is top of my list, especially to see how Chelsea build on their success with new signings. Off the pitch, I can’t wait for the NBA to return to London. My team The Grizzlies are playing at the O2 and I’ll be courtside with Red Eye cheering them on!”
Aimee – "F1 All the Way to Abu Dhabi"
“For me, it’s all about the Formula One World Championship. The Lando vs Oscar battle has been incredible so far, and I’m hoping it goes right down to the wire in Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is my favourite (the winter sun and the evening concerts help!) and it would be the perfect setting for a title decider.”
George – "Monza Magic and Ryder Cup Dreams"
“Monza is always a huge event for Red Eye and one of my personal highlights. Seeing Lewis Hamilton race in front of the passionate Tifosi will be very special. A win might be a step too far but a podium would be amazing! If you’re thinking of joining us at Monza, drop me a message - we’ve got some incredible hospitality options this year. I’m also fired up for the Ryder Cup and hope Europe can pull off a memorable win on American soil.
Nigel – "Texas Trip and Fight Night Fever"
“I love the Austin Grand Prix - the energy, the music, the city, the fans - it’s just unmatched. Outside of F1, one of my sons is a massive boxing fan so I’ll be tuning in for some blockbuster fights. Moses Itauma vs Dillian Whyte is one to look forward to, and of course, the big one: Canelo vs Crawford in Vegas.”
Will – "Ashes Ambitions and Autumn Rugby"
“The Ashes down under is the big one for me. I’m hoping BazBall can turn the tables after our last tour in Australia. And I can’t wait for the Autumn Internationals - both Australia and New Zealand are coming to Twickenham. Seeing the Haka live is always a highlight, and our visits to Allianz Stadium with Red Eye Events are a great day out.”
